This place was build after the battle of Montaperti (1260) around a sighting tower and getting bigger and richer every time was passing from a noble family to another. Around 1500 painter and poets were in this Castle and the most amazing proof are the Frescos located under the loggia: you can’t miss it.
But let’s go back to the Villa, it was carefully and stylish refurbished from the owner and each bedroom has it’s own bathroom for a total of 10 sleeping places 5 double bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Should you need 2 additional bedrooms, the apartment just in front of the villa can be opened for you: just ask! 🙂

Chianti – Tuscany”
We loved our stay here. This home was exactly as pictured, and very comfortable. The staff, including Chiara, were very friendly and amenable to our needs. They are also very family-friendly, as we had a 3-year old with us during our stay. Great accommodations and amenities. We would visit again in a heartbeat.
There were 9 of us who stayed in the villa, which is beautifully decorated, well equipped and clean. Waking up every morning to head out for the day, you see the castle, and it is just absolutely surreal! Ending each evening with a glass of wine on the lawn in front of the well-lit castle to one side and the sunset to the other, is absolutely amazing!! The pool area has 2 covered areas for shade, which worked out very well for us. The staff is very accommodating! They helped us contact airlines for our lost luggage. They provided information for a personal chef and pastor to come for a special anniversary celebration. They even allowed us to use the old stone church on property for a vow renewal. We met the owner and her son, both lovely people. They do run a tight ship, as this is a working winery and olive oil production facility and the owner actually lives inside the castle. Do not expect to come here and have the run of the castle. The pool does have a curfew of 7/8:00 in the evening. To be honest, we were so exhausted from our day trips that it did not even matter. If you stay here, you are a guest, and you must be respectful of the property and owner. The wine tasting was fabulous! This stay was an absolute dream come true!!
Really outstanding all the way around. Two families (total of 10 people) stayed here in late June. We had a meal prepared one night, and did a castle tour / wine tasting. Very cool! Thanks.
As the gates slowly opened, we immediately fell in love. The property is spectacular and the views are amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and given a tour of the property. There were nine of us traveling together and we were all able to spread out in our own rooms. We spent our first full day at the pool and enjoying the property. That evening we took a cooking class up the road with Massimo which was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious and a once in a lifetime experience. The next day we went to Siena for the day and then returned home for a late afternoon tour of the winery with a wine tasting at the end. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It was by far our favorite place during our trip to Italy.
I’ve stayed in many places in Tuscany, Piedimonte and the Veneto. Castello Enchanting Winery in Tuscany is by far the best. The castle/winery is beautiful yet unassuming; the villa and extra cottage provide a private enclave for a family or group of 15 to enjoy Tuscan views. San Gimignano to the west can be seen in the distance from our front yard and San Donato in Chianti in the other direction. The location along a high ridge is perfect for heading east into Chianti Classico or heading to Poggiobonzi to train to Florence. The staff and owner are wonderful! All family members (7-79) gave it 30 thumbs up!
